To all the valued new members of our school community:

Both the Ecole Mountainview Parents Advisory Committee (PAC) and the Terrace Chapter of Canadian Parents for French (CPF) help support the rich culture in our school.   These local groups are 100% volunteer run, and benefit from your input.

At the open house tonight, you can meet Executive members and learn how you can have input to the work that they do, and also find out where your helpful volunteer time may best be offered.

Ecole Mountainview PAC – is a parent led group which strengthens our children’s experience in school through support of extracurricular activities and programs, and purchase of items outside the scope of regular school budget.  PAC consists of an executive committee and any and all parents interested in being involved.

Much of our work happens during school hours – so let us know if this is a good fit with your schedule.  We are always looking for parents to participate, whether on a regular basis or even just once and while!

PAC meets once a month (evenings) and we can be easily be found and tracked on Facebook (Ecole Mountainview PAC to join), or please feel free to contact me, the PAC Chair, directly at wallacenk4@gmail.com.

Canadian Parents for French -BC & Yukon Branch is a parent-led, non-profit organization that has worked for more than 30 years to provide French-language educational, social, cultural and sporting activities for youth.

The local Terrace chapter is 25 years old!  We secure funding to sponsor enrichment activities, scholarships and travel opportunities for our french language students –  connecting them to the broader french language community, both here and farther afield.  Most of our ‘special events’ happen on weekends and evenings – so if you are usually busy in the daytime, think about volunteering with us!

CPF provides great information and resources for parents with children studying French, whether through an immersion, intensive or basic French programme (and no, most of us don’t speak french, either).

If we don’t meet at the open house tonight, we are happy to talk on the phone, via facebook, or connect at any of our events.

The next is this Sunday, at the pool, 5-6pm – free swimming, learning for parents and food/prizes. See the notice sent home this week with your child!

CPF contacts in our school:  Lisa Hanna (250 635 0762), Shelley Potter, Seth Downs and Bruce La Haie
